English National Ballet Masquerade Ball at The Dorchester Hotel, London

I was delighted to perform for the English National Ballet's Masquerade Ball at The Dorchester. It was a hugely successful evening, far exceeding their fundraising target of £100,000.

I was more than happy to meet Natasha Kaplinsky, she did a great job of hosting the evening, and many other high profile guests enjoyed the evening’s entertainment with Lord Poltimore and Sotherby’s hosting the Live Auction.

There were three wonderful performances from the ballet dancers, one of these was specially choreographed for the ball, to accompany me with my rendition of Fly me to moon.

The Face of BBC 'The One and Only' TV Trailer

Showing on BBC1 and BBC2 all over Christmas and New Year, Phil Fryer the Frank Sinatra Tribute and look-alike was spread over screens across the UK...

Phil was called down to London to do a casting for the TV trailer, advertising a new talent show starting in the New Year. It was a great opportunity, as Phil wasn't appearing in the show due to work commitments.
“I thought about it a lot but as you know it takes years to build up a customer base and the last thing I wanted to do was let people down, some of the Jan and Feb bookings have been for in over a year and you have to honour these engagements.” Phil mentioned.

The show looks great for ‘new talent’ starting in the business.

Phil Sings at TOP Celebrity Wedding - Holly Willoughby

Oasis legend Liam Gallagher had some useful advice for Morley-based singer Phil Fryer when they met last weekend in an 11th century castle in West Sussex.

Just like John Lennon’s songs had influenced his own singing career, said the roustabout rocker, as a Frank Sinatra tribute act Phil ought to write his own songs in Sinatra style if he wanted to make it big time in the profession.

“It was advice I will certainly take on board,” says Phil who sang at Dancing on Ice co-presenter Holly Willoughby’s wedding reception at Arundel Castle.

“Liam was with his partner Natalie Appleton and her sister Nicole (ex-All Saints) and was very complimentary about my performance,” reports an elated Phil.

“We chatted for five or six minutes and the Appleton sisters sang along with me before I moved off to sing for the other 150 guests including Love Island presenter Fearne Cotton, Dermot O’Leary from Big Brother, Kate Thornton from the X-Factor, and presenter Andy Peters. It was a very a show-bizzy affair.”

Holly, who married TV producer Daniel Baldwin, began her career in children’s TV and co-presented Dancing on Ice with Phillip Schofield.

“There were tears rolling down her cheeks when I dedicated the old Fred Astaire standard The Way You Look Tonight to her and told her how wonderful she looked as a bride,” said Phil who was accompanied by his pianist Matt Stacey.

The booking came after the groom’s mother heard Phil sing in a Frank & Dean (Martin) Show with Alan Beck in London a couple of years ago and picked up Phil’s business card.

The wedding, which was covered exclusively for the next issue of OK! magazine, brought an unexpected spin-off.

“The OK photographer phoned me earlier this week to say how much she enjoyed my act and booked me to sing at her own wedding reception in Hampshire in December. It can’t be bad,” said Phil.

For a Monday Night (not usually a big night out!) an audience of 700+ came to watch Phil's uncanny tribute to Frank Sinatra.

A donation from the Evening was made to the Candlelighters Childrens Cancer Unit, St James Hospital, Leeds.

The night was a great success, producing Phil's First DVD, available for sale shortly, with a standing ovation to end the night.

The biggest game of the season Leeds Rhinos v Bradford Bulls. Live on Sky Sports 1st July 05. Phil Fryer as Frank Sinatra entertained the very lively crowd. He received a great reception by both home and away fans... With a crowd of 22,500 his nerves where bouncing higher than the rugby ball !!

"But what an experience... especially having a firemans lift across the pitch by 'Ronny the rhino' while singing 'I get a kick out of you'" says Phil.

Phil has now been requested to sing at the Players Presentation Evening at the Queens Hotel, Leeds in September.

Dear Phil

We were delighted to receive your kind donation of £2000.00 which was brought into the office by Oliver Brook and his family.

This is a fantastic amount of money to have raised and will make a real difference to the facilities we are able to provide to families whose children are being treated here at the Regional Children and Adolescents' Cancer and Leukemia Unit here at St James's in Leeds.

Please could you pass on our thanks to everyone for their generous support.

Thank you for continuing to support Candlelighters in this way. Your hard work in raising this amount really is appreciated here at St James's.

Yours Sincerely

Pauline Jolly

Phil was overwhelmed to see that he appeared in Julys issue of FHM.
The picture was taken while he visited the FHM's london office to promote Pizza Hut's new 'The Big New Yorker'.

Phil enjoyed watching the Leeds Rhinos match, as it is a sport which is close to his heart so when it was Phil's turn to do the entertaining to the players he wanted them to enjoy his performance, as much as he had enjoyed theirs on the pitch. Phil performed his Frank Sinatra Tribute show for the Leeds Rhino players & match day sponsors in the players lounge. "The night was great, the players loved it" said Phil.
"This was the first actual time live entertainment has been performed in the players lounge after a match, i feel honoured to be the first" Phil commented.

One of Phils recent highlights was promoting 'The New Yorker' for 'Pizza Hut'. Phil was asked to go to London to meet up with some of the UK's leading magazine and press reps.
While photographers were busy taking shots of Phil with the 16" pizza, Phil kept them entertained while singing 'New York New York'. This was highly taken by the onlookers and he succeeded in promoting 'The New Yorker' fantastically.
Top glossy magazines should hopefully feature Phil in their next months edition, along with various other newspapers.
